I have represented Walton residents since 1997 and I am currently an Elmbridge Borough Councillor for Walton North and Surrey County Councillor for Walton. Since May 2016 I have been the Deputy Mayor of Elmbridge.

I chaired the Elmbridge Business Network for three years and was Governor of Rydens School for 12 years. I was Vice Chairman of Governors when two schools formed to become Walton Oak. For four years I was the Elmbridge Cabinet Member for Community Development. I am a Trustee of the Charity of Robert Phillips and served as Chairman previously.

In the community, I established and help to run the Elmbridge Community Fishing Academy in Walton North for young people aged 8-16 years. I have campaigned on many local issues, including the successful Weylands No Way campaign against a new industrial estate on near Hersham station and the campaign against a 95-bedroom Premier Inn hotel, with no parking, on Terrace Road.

Since rejoining the County Council in 2013, I have worked hard to improve the state of our roads in Walton. For example Russell Road, Manor Road, Mayo Road, Cottimore Terrace and Esher Avenue, to name but a few, have been upgraded under my watch. In 2016 I prioritised many of our pavements as well.

It's always a pleasure to visit the Day Centre in Manor Road and support some of the groups who meet there. Each year I'm on the Walton Local Conservatives stall at Heritage Day by the River. Having served for many years on Elmbridge Business Network, I remain very involved with supporting our local business and with my Surrey allowance I have supported the Walton on Thames Trading Alliance (Wotta) on several occasions.
