I was first elected to the Council in 2000 and since then it has been a pleasure and privilege to serve the people of Long Ditton and represent their views in the Council. Over the years, I have tried to help all those who have approached me on matters which concern them and I have campaigned hard to protect the interests of Long Ditton.

As resident of Long Ditton for nearly 30 years, I was widely involved in the community as Planning Officer for Long Ditton Residents' Association prior to being elected to the Council.

My knowledge and interest in Planning and Development has enabled me to have considerable input into the Council's Local Plan documents, in particular the Development Management Plan and the Design and Character Supplementary Planning Guidance. .

I qualified as an architect in India and worked at one of the largest consulting engineering firms in Asia. My work there included designing steel rolling mills as well as ancillary buildings for the steel industry, a desalination plant and a township as well as feasibility studies for large projects. In the UK, I worked with architects' practices on designs and interiors for hotels, restaurants and pubs, a boarding school and a tea ceremony house.

My hobbies/interests include painting on China and Porcelain for which I have won several awards, playing bridge, Western and Indian Classical music, Theatre and Art. I trained as a reflexologist a few years ago and did voluntary work in a reflexology clinic.

Please do contact me if I can be of assistance on any Council related matter.
