I have lived in Elmbridge for over 40 years - 36 of which have been in Hersham, and I am a Conservative Member for Hersham Village.

Born and educated in Salisbury, Wiltshire I then spent some years working in radio and TV production at the BBC, covering a wide variety of programmes in radio drama, then working in the music, arts and features department in television. Marriage followed (to John Sheldon, who recently retired after 21 years as a Councillor for Hersham), we have 3 grown-up children and four very young grandchildren. In 1976 we moved to Italy for a 4-year period, returning to England in 1980 to live in Hersham. For some years I worked as a voluntary organiser for Age Concern Elmbridge, combining this role with that of part-time work in market research.

Being a councillor means listening and speaking up strongly for all local residents on many issues and I welcome any requests to help residents in any way I can.

I am Chairman of the North Area Planning Sub-Committee, a member of the full Planning Committee, Chairman of the Countryside Consultative Group and Elmbridge Older Persons Advisory Body, and also a member of the Affordable Housing Member Panel and Strategic Spending Board.

I also co-ordinate Hersham in Bloom, and supported by an excellent team we have been involved with this community project for more than 9 years. I also sit on the Advisory Board for Burhill Children's Centre.

Please don't hesitate to call me if you have a local issue or problem that you think I might be able to help you with.
